Explora Park and the Medellín Aquarium

Explora Park is a modern and highly entertaining science and technology park. It is also home to the largest fresh-water aquarium in South America. Children and adults alike can spend hours here playing with the hands-on exhibits, exploring the five interactive experience showrooms, and marveling at the Amazon river ecosystem. At over 25,000 square meters and more than 300 interactive experiences, there is something for everyone.

The interactive areas are broken down into five categories:

  • Life Connection where you can discover how every living creature is related
  • Live Physics where you learn that physics as a science touches everyone
  • Colombia’s Geo-diversity where you can see Colombia from a geoscience’s point of view
  • Technology where you can explore situations involving images, music and movement
  • Interactive Open Plaza where you can experiment with physics through water, light, sound waves, and color.

Some of the highlights of Explora Park are the earthquake simulator, a demonstration on how tornadoes are formed, and a reptile habitat that houses an Anaconda and several species of poisonous frogs. Explora Park is ideal for entertaining children of all ages, or just for bringing out the child in you.

  • The finca was unbelievable. The house was open-aired with hammocks hanging everywhere, sitting right atop a high bluff looking down at a valley and river, with steep rock cliffs and a waterfall behind you. The horses were young and eager to run (much different than the old sway backs you get at a dude ranch!), and the food there was wonderful. -Ashley E.

  • Hands down, the highlight of my trip to Colombia was my stay with Marcela and Noah at Su Casa Colombia. It is clear how much they love their country and their enthusiasm is contagious! I learned so much about the culture (especially the food!) and felt that my time spent there was truly unique and authentic...livin' like a local! Our trip to the finca and waterfall rappelling was crazy fun! I knew I was in good hands and it definitely rivals sky diving for the biggest adrenaline rush I've had. And let's not forget all the wonderful food we had thanks to the incredible staff at the finca. I can't wait to go back! Thank you Su Casa Colombia! -Joanna M.
